Measuring results

How to measure clipping campaign results

A clipping campaign is measured in views on approved clips, the clips that were paid and the cost per 1,000 views. It buys reach and exposure, not sales or streams. This is what gets counted, and what does not.

What gets counted

Three numbers tell you how a campaign did

Every number below comes from the clips a person has approved. Views on rejected clips are never paid for and never counted as results.

01

Views on approved clips

A person reviews every clip before its views count. Live campaigns count views on approved clips only, and rejected clips cost you nothing.

02

Paid clips

The approved clips that earned from the budget. Finished campaigns show the Content Rewards analytics for paid clips, all time.

03

Effective CPM

Effective CPM is the clipper budget spent per 1,000 views. The all-in cost with fees is about $2 per 1,000 views.

What the campaign report shows

Campaigns run on Content Rewards, a separate third-party platform that tracks views and pays creators for views on approved clips. Its campaign report covers the approved clips.

One person runs your campaign from brief to final report, and you see the numbers as they happen.

What to agree before launch

The brief sets what counts as an approved clip: the footage, the tone, the tags and anything off limits. It also sets the platforms and the audience you want, and moderators check where each clip's views come from before they count. Your budget is a hard cap, so spend never goes above it.

In the campaign report

Does clipping increase streams or box office?

A campaign buys reach and exposure. It puts your music, film, show or book in front of more people on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Sales, streams, pre-orders, ticket sales and other commercial outcomes are not guaranteed and are not what these figures measure.

What a viewer does next depends on your product, your pricing, your own marketing and your landing page. If you track streams, ticket sales or sign-ups, use your own data for that. We never promise those numbers. The full wording is in our terms.
